Chichester, United Kingdom University of Chichester Full time

About this role

The University of Chichester is looking for a talented, passionate Physiotherapist to join its rapidly growing health care education team, based at the Chichester campus. This is an exciting time for health care education in the University, with anticipated expansion in student numbers, significant investment in resources and a growing reputation for innovation and excellence. As a result, the university is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Physiotherapy, with interest and experience in Cardio/Pulmonary Physiotherapy, to join our dynamic academic team at our Chichester Campus. As a Physiotherapy Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Allied Health, your responsibilities will include teaching and module co-ordinating for a contemporary Physiotherapy curriculum. You will enhance the student experience across our provision; providing students with a high-quality, research informed educational experience leading to an understanding of healthcare practice and the achievement of both academic and professional qualifications. This will involve teaching and learning activity, student recruitment, clinical placement support, assessment and research. You will also contribute to developments in response to the professional and interprofessional agendas, and support collaborations with clinical colleagues to develop and prepare appropriate clinical placements including educational audit and clinical liaison.

About you

You will have a good relevant undergraduate degree with further professional or academic qualifications at Masters level in Physiotherapy; you will be a practicing Physiotherapist currently on HCPC register for minimum of 2 years and will be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). You will also demonstrate the ability to engage the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them to learn. In addition, you will have current experience of working in the UK, the NHS and/or HEI.

Your teaching will be informed by a combination of practical experience and/or research to support high quality learning and teaching, experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), and the use of technologies to enhance the learning, assessment of and feedback to our students.

About the team

You will work within the team to strengthen the distinctiveness of the University’s student experience as high-quality, personalised, accessible and aspirational. You’ll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively within a small academic team, excellent teaching methods with the ability to develop a variety of approaches to learning and teaching that is student-centred, inclusive and flexible.

This position requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check, which will be undertaken by the University on appointment.

Informal enquiries are welcomed by Dr Nita Muir, Head of the School of Nursing and Allied Health via email at N.Muir@chi.ac.uk or via Tim Cook, Senior Physiotherapy Lecturer at T.Cook@chi.ac.uk.
