The Post

We are the leading provider of Data Services and Advanced Analytics within the public sector in Scotland. The Data and Analytics Service is a dedicated team of professionals that design, develop, and support integrated data and analytical platforms for NHS Scotland. Our work underpins Scotland's reputation as a world leader in health informatics.

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic data and advanced analytics professionals to join our team as Technical Analysts.

As a Technical Analyst, you will work in our delivery teams, specifically working with key stakeholders and users to identify and understand data, reporting and analytical requirements, and working as part of the delivery team to ensure successful implementation of the correct solution to meet the business needs. This is a critical role in supporting the strategic direction for better use of data to support service delivery and outcomes across Scotland.

Key responsibilities include:

Business and user engagement.Business and Technical Analysis to translate requirements into innovative data, BI, and analytics solutions.Producing documentation for business and technical audiences.Data profiling and data quality/validation specification.Pro-actively contributing to service improvement.Engagement with users and colleagues across the BI team.

The Candidate

You will bring the following to the team:

Significant, demonstrable experience in business and technical analysis, including requirements gathering and documentation.Knowledge of Data Solutions Architecture.Strong and effective communication skills.Attention to detail.Passion to make a difference.Desire to excel within a high performing team.Appetite for lifelong learning and growth.Ability to constructively challenge and confidently contribute to the overall success of the service.Interested in a wide range of topics with willingness to dive deeper into the detail when required.Desire to support and develop other members of the team.

Location and Working Pattern

Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.

Currently hybrid working.

The work pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
