This unique role will suit a âhands-onâ product development engineering leader from any industrial sector, who is technically competent across fluid systems, mechanical, electrical, software etc, and enjoys collaborating with diverse engineering teams to help produce and launch exceptional products.

The Opportunity

Linx Printing Technologies, a world-leading Danaher Company, develops inkjet, laser & thermal transfer equipment that enable manufacturers to mark consumption dates and other data on a vast array of products.

Based at our St. Ives, Cambridgeshire site, the Engineering Manager will lead our lab-based Hardware Development and Test team of 6, ensuring engineering excellence, quality, safety, performance, time to market, cost, and global regulatory requirements on the next generation of printers.

As well as mentoring and developing a high calibre team, the jobholder will engage broadly with the other various R&D departments on-site, and develop and enhance quality driven strategy and standard processes (DFSS, DFR, FMEA, FRACAS etc).

The Ideal Candidate

  • Hands-on engineering leader who has developed and tested electro/mechanical industrial products for international commercial customers

  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills across fluids & mechanical engineering (both critical). Electrical & sophisticated software exposure are also advantageous

  • Inspirational leader with excellent communication, relationship building and influencing skills

  • Passionate about continuously improving systems, processes, and team performance

  • Implements standard design, review, verification, quality, and risk management processes. Expert use of DFSS, DFR, FMEAs etc, to ensure product reliability and quality

  • Engineering degree or time-served experience in a relevant industry
