This role is critical in driving the ecommerce strategy of the Digital function and makes up a core part of the Senior Digital Leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Digital Officer. It is also a key member of the broader Commercial & stores Leadership Team playing a part in driving the overall commercial plan of the total business, therefore being seen as a Senior digital leader beyond Digital Function.
Job Responsibilities
Drives the strategic direction of Performance .com Trading; including determining the optimal range for Boots.com Delivering the annual budget for the business, both top line revenue and Adjusted Margin. P&L ownership Build out a detailed daily .com commercial plan, customer journey and site set is enhanced to beat expectations. Forecasting and Management of all KPIs to drive .com performance Lead a diverse team of traders for Beauty, health and general merchandise, digital merchandiser, graphic designers, Brand specialists and SEO specialists to deliver the commercial and customer plan. Evolve and implement the customer acquisition strategy and be responsible for the strategy and delivery of Paid Search, SEO and lower funnel targeted campaign Support our relationship with Mediacom (our agency) and Google via the Director of Paid Performance Drive application and delivery of transformation outputs in the Digital function, working with the Head of Digital Transformation taking the art of the possible into reality to drive revenue Work with the Chief Digital Officer to lead the innovation roadmap for our marketing technology stack. Must work with Managing Director of Beauty, Healthcare &Pharmacy, General Merchandising Business Units and Chief Commercial & Customer Officer to ensure digital trading results support overall Boots growth (And vice versa, holding them accountable to ensuring Digital Trading receive the support required). Identify and drive the commercial opportunities in proposition or dot com range enhancement to immediate and long-term growth. Lead more data lead insight and optimisation approach into Trading, Design and Marketing. Drive the App Growth Accountable for the In-Store Ordering performance Building a Future Boots Digital leadership team Manage a team of approx. 80 colleagues. Online experience - successful candidates need to have extensive Digital experience and owned the e-commerce proposition for another B2C organisation which is seen as "best in class" in this area. Ideally this will have involved developing or evolving a multi-channel or omni-channel offering for the business in question, preferably with a turnover in excess of £100million. Candidates should be able to demonstrate that, as a result of their efforts, online has grown beyond the organic rate of consumer adoption and market. Data Insight Led - successful candidates will be adept at leading the development and delivery of data and insight led strategies. You will be familiar with GA360 and able to 'self-serve' as well as develop your trading team become 'best in class' at data, insight and 'customer first' trading strategies. P&L ownership - candidates need to demonstrate ownership and accountability from a profit and loss perspective. They will feel comfortable being measured by business outputs. Whilst they will have a technical understanding, their main motivation should be improving key online metrics and in doing so establish a higher rate of growth online. Customer first mentality - candidates should bring a natural customer first mentality to problem solving. Ideally this should be developed within an organisation involved in physical product and, as such, candidates will have a strong understanding of the entire customer lifecycle, including areas where innovation is prevalent, such as shipping and logistics. Stakeholder management - this role involves working closely with IT and supply chain, along with category leaders. Candidates need to demonstrate an ability to influence and engage other senior leaders in terms of driving and implementing new ideas. Commercial acumen as well as operation know how Inspirational communication skills, careful listener with an exceptional ability to influence and bring others to a common viewpoint by dint of argument rather than force of personality KPIS
