Playground Inspector in Colwyn Bay

We are looking for a suitably experienced Play Ground Inspector to join the Flood Risk and Infrastructure Group.

The principal duty of this post is to carry out a strict playground, skate park and out-door gym inspection monitoring programme in accordance with European Directives and manufacturers recommendations.

In order to be considered for this post candidates must hold an RPII Operation and Maintenance playground inspection qualification including RPII exam and it is an essential requirement that candidates have extensive proven experience at a detailed level, over a number of years of dealing with playground inspection/maintenance programmes and a detailed understanding of the standards that relate to play equipment with regards to inspection/installations and maintenance.

Duties:

To carry out a strict playground, skate park and out-door gym inspection monitoring programme in accordance with BS (EN)  1176,manufacturers recommendations and recognised good practice

To record and report on the condition of each of unit of equipment at the time of each inspection through handheld technology.

To carry out the monitoring/inspection of playgrounds and playground equipment for other Councils / Public bodies as may be required.

Ensure that comprehensive data and records relating to inspection of assets are input and maintained within the agreed asset management system.

To undertake risk assessments, if needed, relating to all play areas and items of play equipment and to maintain records of all risk assessments.  

To undertake basic repairs and maintain sites and items of play equipment and open space in accordance with safe working practices and manufacturers guidance within the boundary of each playground.

To advise the relevant Manager through the inspection process for Capital upgrades.

To ensure that performance is maintained at optimum levels of efficiency, and that the highest possible standards are maintained.

To procure and supervise external/internal contractors for maintenance of existing equipment and new playground installations.

Required to attend meetings with third parties and stakeholders.

To complete all necessary paperwork relating to timesheets.
