Job Description

Office based

37.5hrs - Monday to Friday

Rotating shifts on a weekly basis: 7am to 3pm and 8.30am to 4.30pm.

Position Objective:

Responsible for carrying out analytical chemistry testing on finished goods and raw materials within an ISO accredited laboratory environment. Successful candidate will be part of a fast-paced quality control department at our Inchinnan campus. Successful performance of job duties contributes to meeting testing schedules, customer satisfaction, departmental safety and quality objectives.

Essential Functions:

Perform raw material and finished good release testing according to standard operating procedures in a timely and efficient manner.

Key tasks for this role include:

  • Raw material Sampling and Testing
  • Water sampling and testing
  • ID by FTIR
  • Karl Fischer Analysis, HPLC, ICPMS
  • Reconstitution of powder media and full specification testing.
  • Calibration and Maintenance of equipment
  • Provide support to initiate and implement validation processes, technical investigations and improvement initiatives.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain detailed and complete product test records in accordance with in-house testing procedures and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Support and maintain Company's Safety, Environmental and Waste Management programme.
  • Participate in personal development opportunities to further improve skills and knowledge relevant to the position.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in biological and/or chemistry science.

Experience:

  • Experience in a biotechnology or similar manufacturing environment preferred but not crucial.
  • Good aseptic techniques required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a dedication to excellence.
  • Ability to troubleshoot lab-based queries and prioritise workload.
  • Able to work independently as well as within a diverse team.
  • Familiar with MS Office products.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions:

Works in a laboratory environment. Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials. Will be expected to perform some manual handling. Must be able to work overtime and flexible shifts where required.
