Junior Respiratory Research Fellow -1 year fixed term

We are seeking a motivated Respiratory trainee to join the Respiratory Research team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

This post offers an opportunity to do research with Dr Beatriz Lara, Respiratory Consultant. University Hospital has a growing research portfolio.

This fellowship is a great training opportunity for those looking to augment their respiratory experience or wishing to develop a clinical and/or research interest in respiratory.

The fellow will assist in the set-up and execution of commercial and non-commercial research trials being supported by the department.

Main duties of the job

This post offers an opportunity to do research with Beatriz Lara, Respiratory Consultant at Coventry University Hospital, Coventry. This is a research post that aims to: (1) provide research training to the post-holder while supporting Respiratory studies taking place at UHCW (2) provide clinical training in respiratory diseases to the post-holder shadowing Dr Lara in clinic at the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire. The post will provide research experience in interstitial lung diseases (mainly sarcoidosis), alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency and airways diseases (bronchiectasis and COPD). The post would be suitable for those aiming to develop a research or clinical career in Respiratory Medicine.
