We work peripatetically with Deaf children and young people their schools and families, across early years, primary and secondary mainstream settings to enhance inclusive education. We also manage and develop, alongside the host schools, 3 Resourced provisions within mainstream schools in both primary and secondary.

We are looking for motivated professionals to support the work of the team.  You will need to be an experienced, energetic, enthusiastic person with specialist knowledge and skills, who enjoys working as part of a team and has excellent practice and work ethics. This is an opportunity for an experienced support assistant who has previously worked with deaf children and young people to join our team. In the first instance the position is within our centrally-based outreach team. However, the successful candidate may be asked to work flexibly within our resource provisions depending upon Service need.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience of working as a Specialist Learning Support Assistant across a range of ages and abilities;
  • Good knowledge & understanding of working with deaf pupils;
  • BSL level 2 qualification and commitment to progress;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate initiative;
  • Commitment to helping children learn and make good progress;
  • The skills to plan and deliver 1:1 or small group interventions:
  • Optimism, good sense of humour and ability to solve problems;
  • Ability to positively influence/lead colleagues and parents;
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn
