Your new company
We are currently working on behalf of a client of ours who are in search of a maintenance engineer for one of their sites in Gravesend, Kent.
Your new role

Ensure the timely completion of all PPM activities as required, and provide feedback to the Senior Engineer to enhance the PPM system and its activities.Collaborate closely with the Engineer on the opposite shift to guarantee daily handover of ongoing activities, and share all necessary information and practices.Contribute knowledge and suggestions for the continuous improvement of plant, machinery, and maintenance activities. Work alongside the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to pinpoint persistent issues and devise appropriate solutions.As a member of the Engineering team, strive to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness concerning replacement parts and consumables.Carry out equipment repairs in a safe and prompt manner, ensuring constant updates on progress are provided to production.Perform remedial engineering works to equipment or site as directed by the Engineering Manager.Communicate any safety risks or potential equipment or site failures to the Manager.Collaborate with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to ensure contractors adhere to site Health and Safety rules and procedures and work safely on site.Ensure all activities comply with the Site Health and Safety instructions, the SSG Health and Safety manual, and relevant engineering standards.Report any incidents, accidents, and near misses in line with Health and Safety Policies.Adhere to safe systems of work and best practice procedures.Maintain high standards of housekeeping.Uphold the Company's discipline, rules, and standards.Ensure the company assets are maintained to achieve maximum efficiency.Foster excellent communication between production staff and co-workers.What you'll need to succeed
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). - Electrical Installation MaintenanceMechanical Fabrication/Maintenance.Electronic fault-finding to component level.The ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of management and staff and work as part of a team.Must possess a recognised qualification relevant to the role (e.g. mechanical or electrical C&G).Skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical trades: Apprenticeship with indentures preferred.Preferred knowledge of other engineering disciplines, including pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems.What you need to do now
