Duties of a Workshop Manager

  • As Special Purpose Machine Build Manager you will lead a multi-disciplined team of technicians to ensure each build is completed on time, within budget and that it s handed over to the customer with complete satisfaction.
  • As part of your role you will also be tasked with managing site services, driving 5S and ensuring all statutory regulations are adhered to.

Requirements of a Workshop Manager

Have a proven background in leading an engineering team within a special purpose machine build environment. Where you have had direct responsibility for plant performance, achieving targets, process development, mentoring staff, setting and monitoring KPI s and managing time critical projects.

You will ideally be:

  • Qualified to a HNC standard Mechanically
  • Have climbed the ranks of engineering from an apprentice level (ideally in toolmaking or mechanical fitting) into a position where you have led a team.
