Your new role
Your new role as a Design Engineer will involve the preparation of product design specifications in accordance with customer requirements. You will generate concept designs for both new and existing product development, proactively identifying product trends and future applications. Managing design projects through the internal NPI/Innovation Stage-Gate process, you will coordinate and collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver customer-centric solutions. Your role will also include the application of design for manufacture (DFM) principles, validation of part designs through FEA analysis and physical type testing, and ownership of design projects from concept to completion. Additionally, you will thoroughly research new materials and manufacturing processes, attend design meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure compliance with industry design and safety standards.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will need proven experience in product design and innovation development processes. You must possess excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and the ability to think outside the box is essential. Experience in SolidWorks and sheet metal and fabrication design is required, along with proficiency in Office 365 packages. The essential criteria include a third-level education in Product Design or Mechanical Engineering, and a minimum of 2 years' experience in designing sheet metal and polymer products, as well as SolidWorks CAD design/modelling.
