Kingston upon Thames, United Kingdom Kingston Grammar School Full time

Kingston Grammar School is looking to recruit a Facilities Maintenance Technician to be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repair works across all school sites.

The Maintenance Technician will also assist in the school’s compliance requirements regarding statuary regulations pertaining to water, fire, emergency lighting (EML), electricity and others.

This role is a varied one and supports all aspects of school life from the day-to-day safety, and functionality of the site. The site operates at a very high level of utilisation and the Facilities Service is key to supporting this. As such a willingness to ‘roll up their sleeves’ to assist with operational delivery is essential.

Candidates will have a previous background in Maintenance and preferably experience working in a multi-centre site and more specifically an educational environment. You will have knowledge of working as part of a team and a good understanding of domestic and commercial building services.

The role is offered on a full-time, permanent contract working 40 hours per week for 52 weeks a year. The expected hours are Monday – Friday, 7am – 3pm. The holiday entitlement is 25 days plus bank holidays.

The salary for this role is circa £37,000 per annum. Dependent on experience.

For further information and to apply, please visit the vacancies section on the School's website via the Apply button.

Closing date for applications: 9am on Friday 30th August 2024.

However, early applications are encouraged as we will be interviewing as applications are received. We reserve the right to close the vacancy at any time.

Prior to interview, an online search will be conducted to identify any past or current incidents or issues that might affect your suitability to work with children and undertake this role. This is in line with guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education. Please note this online search will be carried out only on publicly available information and be limited to issues relating to your suitability to work with children and/or in a school environment. Issues that arise will not automatically be a bar to your employment at this school.

Kingston Grammar School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
