The Headteacher and Governors of Layton Primary School are looking to recruit a new SENDCO who is ready to take up the position within a large, three-form-entry primary school with 624 pupils on roll. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right candidate to lead, learn, and innovate SEND practice across the school.
We are an inclusive school where we ensure children have access to the curriculum alongside their peers within class, for the vast majority of the time. We are looking for an individual who can innovate and develop our practice in SEND and support the practice of staff to ensure children can demonstrate the best of their abilities. Our school supports inclusive practice at every opportunity; the successful candidate will have the opportunity to empower, challenge and support staff and build on their practice across school to ensure our children thrive.
Our school values opinions, promotes individuals’ strengths, and creates opportunities for personal growth. This post represents a superb career opportunity in a modern school with excellent new facilities and technology.
To gain further information, please see the application pack attached which includes a letter from the Headteacher, person specification and job description. Please provide a separate letter, 3 sides of A4 maximum, detailing your education philosophy, and suitability and experience for the role; this is opposed to the final section of the application form. This letter must be written separately to the application form and e-mailed/posted in support of your application.
Informal conversations with the Headteacher are welcomed. We have scheduled a Virtual Meeting on Thursday 2nd May at 2.00pm. There will be a tour of the school on Wednesday 8th May at 4.00pm; please email recruitment@layton.blackpool.sch.uk to book onto the visit or request a telephone conversation with Mr Clucas, Headteacher.
Layton Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children/vulnerable adults. This post is subject to satisfactory two year reference history, Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check (previously CRB check), medical clearance, evidence of any essential qualifications and proof of legal working in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. The Governing Board is committed to ensuring consistency of treatment and fairness and will abide by all relevant equality legislation.
