Leeds, United Kingdom IVC Evidensia Full time

In light of our team's expansion, we are seeking a dedicated and ambitious Registered Veterinary Nurse to join frank. Pet Surgeons. on a full-time basis. This position involves rotation within our vibrant surgical referral hospital, covering surgery, anaesthesia, wards, imaging, and occasional night shifts.

Become a part of our exceptional Specialistled surgical team

At frank. Pet Surgeons., we handle a diverse range of intriguing orthopaedic cases, including complex fractures, total hip replacement, angular limb deformities, and advanced spinal and soft tissue surgeries.

As part of our Specialist-led team, you will actively support all five of our surgeons, providing a unique opportunity to enhance your surgical and anaesthesia skills and knowledge under the guidance of true experts.

Our nursing team is committed to delivering exceptional patient care throughout the hospital, with a shared goal of continually advancing patient safety and recovery.

We value individuals who can convey a positive image of the hospital and its services, demonstrating a friendly, helpful, and approachable demeanour with colleagues and clients alike. We encourage our nurses to work with autonomy and utilise their skills fully. Interests in surgery, anaesthesia, and/or imaging would be well supported with us.

Work with cuttingedge facilities

It is our mission to make specialist surgical care more accessible. Our specialist surgical teams are up to date with the latest surgical techniques, and routinely carry out highly complex surgeries, enabling us to confidently take on the most challenging cases. Everything we do is backed up by a unique Surgical Complications Guarantee that covers any complications arising from surgery within 6 months of the procedure. We have fixed price packages for all our procedures.

frank. Pet Surgeons. is a leading and progressive veterinary clinic dedicated to providing high-quality care to our patients. We are located on the Orbital Industry Park, just off junction 4 of the M621 and 1.3 miles from Leeds train station. Our purpose built practice houses 2 fully equipped operating theatres, CT, digital radiography, arthroscopy, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring equipment, separate dog and cat wards, and in-house laboratory.

With a team of skilled veterinary surgeons and support staff, we strive to create a compassionate and nurturing environment for both our patients and their owners. As a well-established practice, we are committed to continuous learning and professional development. We have 5 Surgeons (4 Specialists), 2 Residents, 4 Surgical Interns, 15 RVNs, 5 ACAs and 8 Support staff.

Why join us?

Our nursing team upholds remarkably high clinical care standards for our patients, maintaining effective communication within the hospital team and with pet owners. We are seeking a registered veterinary nurse who aligns with this ethos.

Participation in regular nurse meetings is encouraged, fostering an environment where you can contribute constructive ideas. As a confident RVN, possessing excellent communication and organisational skills, you should also have a passion for personal and professional development. While prior referral experience is beneficial, we welcome applications from nurses with a first opinion background as our Senior RVNs are dedicated to delivering cutting edge training and support to the entire team.

Working hours

The existing schedule operates on a 13-week rotation, involving one week of night shifts followed by a full week off. The subsequent 11 weeks include rotating through the hospital on day shifts. Shift times fall between 07:00-15:00 or 12:00-20:00, covering a week at a time of each shift so you can find a routine and plan around work in advance.

You may also asked to cover occasional twilight shifts (13:00-21:00) when our twilight nurse is on leave, but this cover is shared across the whole team. Additionally, there is a weekend daytime on-call rota on a 1:13 basis, with enhanced overtime compensation for any called-out instances. We will be happy to discuss the shift pattern in further detail on application.
