Purpose of Role
We are looking for a dynamic Head of Finance who is an excellent and engaging communicator; adept at presenting to an audience of mid-and senior management level stakeholders within all departments of the organisation.
The Head of Finance will be based at our Head Office on Woodstock Road and will oversee two management accountants. You will play a critical role in guiding, supporting and interpreting the financial direction of the company, ensuring our long-term financial health and success.
Reporting directly to the Company Proprietor and Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial activity, including accounting, reporting, process improvement, audit preparation (external and internal), budgeting and forecasting.
Our expectations of the ideal candidate
The Head of Finance will work closely with the Company Proprietor and Managing Director to identify and outline company goals and oversee the organisations long-term financial health. You will contribute to the achievement of immediate and wider Company objectives, by providing timely advice and guidance on all aspects of financial strategy. You support the development, collaboration and implementation of our annual business plan, by producing budgets which consider the companys strategic direction, and planned expenditure. You will be naturally inquisitive and proactive in maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of current trends and best practices within the hospitality industry, to ensure that maximum productivity is achieved. Being an ambassador of our standards and culture means you will lead by example.
Working Hours
This is a full-time position, with usual working hours of Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Our Head Office Team is at the heart of our operation. Therefore, being in-office is essential for seamless, in-person collaboration.
Skills and Experience
A proven track record as a successful Head of Finance or financial ControllerQualified accountant (CPA, FCA, CIMA, ACCA)A self-starter who is hands on, highly organised and whose decision making is driven by data accompanied by a knowledge of Company, industry and local market trendsUncompromising level of honesty and integrityExtensive senior level accountancy and leadership experienceUp-to-date knowledge and experience of working within luxury hospitality, five-star marketStrategic thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsHigh resilience and adaptabilityA forensic approach to accounting with unwavering attention to detailProficient in IT and latest accounting softwareAdvanced Excel expertise and adept at dealing with large data sets and subsequent reportingExperience with Access Financials and People systems would be beneficialAn understanding of managing service charge through an external TroncmasterCustomer and guest focused, with a genuine interest in all areas of our businessesExperience within a similar structure would be very beneficial: I.e. reporting directly to the Company owner/Managing Director of a privately owned, multi-site, luxury hospitality group
