    Job Description

    · Develop a clear and compelling digital, data and technology strategy for the charity that supports the overall strategy of the charity

    · To support the charity in using digital, data and technology to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, including Children and Young People to - drive impact for service users, facilitate supporter journeys, provide insights to commissioners and ensure the charity operates with real efficiency.

    · To enable executive leaders to make key strategic decisions about the future of the charity based on , insightful analysis of data and a sound understanding of technology opportunities and challenges.

    · To be a leader for change and ensure that digital initiatives are fully integrated with the strategic-planning process, including leadership commitment and resource allocation.

    · To be accountable for the delivery of the remits of the Operating Technology, Emerging Technology & Continuous Improvement and Data & Insight teams, working with colleagues to manage competing priorities and resource availability.

    · Build and develop a multi-disciplinary team of professionals that will provide value for money support across the charity. In doing so tackle key strategic challenges in the charity including the need for data-led decision-making, insightful analysis, and continuous improvement.

    · Ensuring that the charity has a robust framework and processes to protect our data and against cyber attacks and malware.

    · Lead by example in demonstrating Barnardo's Values and Leadership & Management Behaviours.

    The Successful Applicant

    · NfP experience is NOT essential.

    · Experience of operating digital and technology teams at a senior level in large complex organisations with geographically spread operational delivery models.

    · Extensive experience and demonstrable success in setting strategic direction and achieving digital and cultural transformation.

    · Experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams.

    · Extensive experience of managing external contracted partners and suppliers to ensure delivery to time and quality.

    · Proven track record of analysing and planning systems improvement, automations and use of AI technologies to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness.

    · Demonstrable experience of engaging and working with employees, stakeholders, customers and senior management using a number of methods in order to achieve service transformation.

    · Experience in providing a range of stakeholders with complex information in a clear, simple and straightforward manner, including at Board level.
