Location : Heathfield

Salary: £15 per hour

Hours: Full Time & Part Time Required

Are you interested in broadening your knowledge and experience in brain injury? Do you want to make a positive difference to someone's life? Do you have a passion for development in support and rehabilitation? Whatever your background, join our client's team and help someone reach their full potential and live life to the max.

The organisation provide regular 1:1 clinical supervision and 24/7 emergency on-call support. They have experienced payroll and human resources teams so support workers always have a point of contact for employment and pay queries.

The Role

The organisation is recruiting support workers to provide support to a 19-year-old young woman with an acquired brain injury.

She is currently living at home with her mum, two brothers, and a vast array of pets The client has access to an annexe within the property's grounds, where she is working on building her independent living skills with her Support Worker team. There is already an established support team in place, including a team leader, and they are now looking for someone to complement the team, covering the outstanding hours, ideally with some flexibility.

Your role will enable the client to live in the community, maximising her rehabilitation potential, improving her quality of life, and achieving her desired goals. The client undertakes regular therapy sessions and enjoys hobbies such as photography, shopping, trips to Starbucks, and cooking. The client also has a boyfriend and requires support to navigate and facilitate their relationship.

You will become part of a trusted team for the client who benefits from support and encouragement from friendly, smiling faces, to know that she is doing well, and to highlight all her amazing skills and traits She is always up for some girly chats and a giggle.

The client can struggle with motivation and initiation so supporting her to engage in meaningful activities and maintain her schedule is a big part of the role. She can also struggle with anxiety while out in the community and fixate on social interactions; these moments require an understanding and patient approach and personality.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a new team that is being put in place to support and develop the next stage of the client's journey, where no two days are the same.

Two- weekly rolling rota consisting of a mix of the below shift:

* Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9 am - 9 pm

* Tuesday 9 am-5 pm

* Friday 10 am - Saturday 10 am (sleep in)

* Saturday 10 am - Sunday 10 am (sleep in)

* Sunday 10 am - 6 pm

Skills and Qualifications

* Passion and commitment for the role, with an opportunity to get to know the client and make a difference in her daily living.

* The ability to bring your strengths and interests to the team.

* Flexibility and availability to provide cover for absences on a bi-weekly rota, including overnight and weekend shifts.

* Previous experience would be an advantage. However, applicants with no experience but a willingness to learn may be considered.

* Ability to communicate effectively as part of a team.

* Enthusiasm to support the client's participation in social, leisure, and rehabilitation activities in a variety of fun settings.

* Assist in reaching the client's specific goals as instructed and trained by the therapy team.

* Have up to date DBS at enhanced level - paid for by the employer if you need to apply.

* Regular supervision/appraisal with your case manager and ongoing support from the wider team and therapists.
