We are looking for a Head of E.ON Energy Markets Controlling & Market Risk to join our Finance team.

Head of E.ON Energy Markets Controlling & Market Risk

Here's what you'll be doing

As Head of E.ON Energy Markets (EEM) Controlling and Risk, you'll take charge of steering all controlling and market risk activities within the dynamic energy markets team at EON UK.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director of EON NEXT, you'll not only join but shape the EEM Leadership team. Your pivotal role will drive the optimization of business performance through astute risk management and incisive financial analysis.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Managing EEM UK P&L through financial control and robust risk framework
  • Lead financial management and negotiate Telecom Plus contract
  • Drive monthly performance dialogues with EEM GMBH CFO and CEO
  • Review transfer price mechanism for £20bn wholesale costs
  • Continuously assess market changes and identify risks through forecasting
  • Develop business cases and financial frameworks for EEM projects
  • Ensure coherence in understanding wholesale costs performance
  • Design of performance management framework for EEM UK
  • Embed market risk framework in the UK ensuring that wholesale risk are appropriately managed and tracked
  • Implement control framework to ensure compliance of UK wholesale trading team
  • Lead on business case development and provide financial challenge and sign off
  • Recommend remedial action in the event of failure to achieve acceptable performance
  • Establish and monitor market risk framework for UK trading
  • Lead external audit for EEM UK and Telecom Plus with KPMG
  • Build modern finance function focusing on digitization and compliance

    • Broad financial and risk management skills, covering all aspects of contract, reporting and planning, with an emphasis on driving value and substantial growth in the business
    • Excellent commercial acumen with experience of influencing at a senior level and leading/driving business change across a large organisation
    • Ability to build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
    • Passionate and open-minded while meticulous about data and details
    • Results-oriented, able to see beyond your own problem space and dependencies to find solutions
