Rutherford Cross is delighted to be exclusively engaged by a growing business to appoint a Management Accountant. The position is based at the company's brand-new HQ in central Glasgow; however, the company itself has a national footprint. The business has grown significantly in the last few years, and this position represents a key hire as the continued growth requires further support from its high-performing finance function.

In this position, you will work closely with the Financial Controller with day-to-day support whilst also getting involved in projects and driving improvements across the business. It is envisaged that in a few years, this position will become a business partnering role, so we are looking for someone who can get stuck in and learn the systems, understand the business, and then have the opportunity to progress their career.

This would be an ideal first move for someone in professional practice seeking a first move into the commercial industry, or a part-qualified individual seeking a role that offers study support and progression. We are also happy to consider QBE should the experience be relevant.

Key

Responsibilities:

Accurate preparation and distribution of monthly management accounts and weekly KPIsBuild and manage relationships with the operations teams across various regions and divisions, offering financial analysis of their performanceUnderstand, reconcile, and communicate significant variances between actual performance and budgetPrepare regular weekly and monthly reports, analysing and explaining changes to the Financial Controller and Finance DirectorAnalyse and provide evidence for monthly accruals and prepayments, along with other balance sheet reconciliationsEngage in statutory reporting activities, collaborating with external auditors and banking clubBring ideas for business systems and processes continuouslyAid in preparing the year-end audit fileSupport asset management efforts, ensuring accurate recordingAssist in year-end stock counts
