NES Fircroft is recruiting a Shutdown Mechanical Project Engineer on behalf of ConocoPhillips based at their terminal, Seal Sands in Teesside. This is a long-term contract opportunity. 37.5hrs per week. Excellent rates and benefits. 

The ConocoPhillips Norsea Terminal, located in Teesside at the mouth of the river Tees, is a crude oil reception, processing, storage, and trans-shipment installation. The terminal also fractionates natural gas liquids into ethane, propane, and butane.

Primary Role Objectives
Projects ManagementResponsible for the development and on-time execution of a portfolio of multi-discipline projects (predominantly mechanically biased) executed within unit shutdown outage windowsResponsible for the development and execution of projects, from definition through to front-end engineering, HAZOP, Detailed Design, Construction & CommissioningProvide overall Project Management and liaise as necessary with those affected by the project as requireProject managing and controlling any modifications / changes through the management of change process, in compliance with site standards and current legislatioAnalyse problems and provide technical input to drive appropriate and pragmatic solutionsLiaison/interface with the relevant Technical Authority on issues and deviation request including developing technical specificationsResponsible for Project Cost Control, schedule attainment, forecasting and ensuring that the work scope is effectively and efficiently deliveredCarry out audits and readiness reviews to ensure projects are in compliance with the project delivery process and are aligned with key delivery milestonesProactive management of stakeholders chairing project meetings and other key forums.Support the preparation of tenders and participate in bid analysis for key packages of workDevelop cost estimates including submission of formal funding requestsDrive continuous improvement & development of the shutdown delivery models to become best in classProactively participate in safety and design and construction reviewsContribute to risks reviews and risk assessmentsAttend FAT's and provide quality assurance for construction activitiesSupport completions with technical review and punchlisting of modifications
Skills, Experience & CompetenciesStrong project engineering and technical background in mechanical disciplineDegree educated in relevant Engineering Discipline (preferably chartered status)Demonstrable understanding of other engineering disciplines such as Instrument, Electrical, Piping, Static Vessels, Civil, Asset Integrity and RotatingDemonstrable experience of managing and safely delivering small to medium scale multi-disciplined projectsKnowledge &/or experience of shutdowns or unit overhauls would be beneficialExtensive Engineering & Maintenance experience Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical or other regulated industryFamiliarity with relevant legislative requirements, CDM, Temporary Works, ATEX, Electricity at Work Regs etcExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsFlexible and adaptable, demonstrating a positive "can do" approach to workAbility to function well within a team environmentDemonstrable leadership skills and experienceEffective time and workload managerAbility to use Microsoft packages
