Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Senior Finance Officer in Hull. This is a contract with a scope for extension working full time hours.

The job:

  • Responsible for the compilation, maintenance and accounting of the organisations' Capital Programme including short and medium term forecasting, budgeting and monthly reporting
  • Responsible for the delivering capital budget monitoring information to Service Heads, and the compilation of corporate monitoring thereby meeting the needs of the Corporate Management Team
  • To perform monthly and annual accounting activities including balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting and data analysis
  • Access and maintenance of the general ledger, daily dealings of working capital through the treasury systems process

The candidate:

  • Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or equivalent level of qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 4)
  • A good understanding of finance systems (preferably Oracle) in a controlled environment and experience of working with standardised processes
  • Previous experience working in a similar capacity for a local authority is desirable
  • Strong Excel skills are essential
