The Opportunity...

 

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

 

Being part of the CommOps organisation, as Capability Lead, you will be responsible for the delivery of circa 650 competent and trained commissioning resources and will support pre-operations and future operations in meeting their resource needs. In executing capability activities, you will be required to ensure that all resources are delivered to schedule, within budget, and in compliance with relevant NNB HPC process and procedure.   

 

You will play a key role in the delivery of the CommOps Capability Strategy, encompassing the key areas of, compensation, recruitment, onboarding, training, security, welfare, and retention. In doing so you will be required to manage and maintain a one source of truth' data model to enable accurate reporting of resourcing needs and progress which meets the requirements of the Stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

 

  • In conjunction with Organisational Capability and HR, input into the development of the CommOps resourcing strategy and associated plans in line with the overall Programme Business Execution Plan (BEP), setting out how the delivery of resources will be managed, organised, and executed.
  • Updating and maintenance of the resourcing element of the Medium-Term Plan (MTP), ensuring all CommOps resource needs are identified and planned.
  • Defining the work scope to be delivered and the processes and procedures to be used to successfully achieve CommOps resource requirements.
  • Driving delivery of the CommOps resourcing strategy, MTP and the associated tasks to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget and meet business requirements.
  • Supporting the development of the CommOps resource plan ensuring alignment with the MTP and Nuclear Baseline.
  • Working with other key stakeholders, contribute to the development of the various resource pipelines from EDF UK Commissioning, Existing Generation (from HR), Shareholder Partners, Alliance Partners.
  • Proactively contribute to ensuring EDF's and HPC's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) objectives are met and that we foster an environment of inclusion.
  • Supporting HR in development of development/succession plans for CommOps to ensure that all person's next career steps are considered.
  • Managing the interfaces applicable to delivery, including (not limited to), those with the Alliance Partners (AP), Related Party Companies (RPC), HR, HPC Resourcing Hub and the Security Vetting Team. 
  • Managing transitions of EDF station personnel and Pre-operations as a pipeline to commissioning and support the transition of personnel from CommOps into the Future Operations organisation.  
  • Managing and resolving issues associated with delivery of the resourcing strategy, plans and MTP.
  • Implementing continuous improvements to the resourcing strategy, plans and associated processes and procedures, applicable to recruitment, onboarding, training etc, ensuring the most expedient and efficient method of delivery is adopted.
  • Complying with applicable safety, environmental and quality standards, company procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.

 

Who you are

 

Your background may include some of the following:

  • Hold a degree in Human Resource Management or related field with a minimum 2-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience working and delivering in a dynamic and challenging environment, leading resourcing programmes on large infrastructure.
  • Experienced in the delivery of activities associated with the identification (pipelining) or resources to provide resource assurance.
  • Experienced in the development of process and procedures required to manage and control delivery of work scope, safely and to the required standard in quality.
  • Knowledgeable in the development of delivery schedules and associated plans.
  • Commercially aware with knowledge in the monitoring of budgets.
  • Understanding the needs of quality and applicability of quality requirements associated with the delivery of competent and experienced resources.
  • Experience of managing contractors, consultants, and other advisors in delivering complex projects.
  • Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills.
