We are seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to play a pivotal role in delivering engineering consultancy projects across a variety of domains including Transmissions, ADAS, Hybrid Vehicles, and Electrification. With an increasing focus on the analysis of functional safety risks and the implementation of mitigation actions, this role is your opportunity to act as a central Functional Safety expert within dynamic consultancy projects.

Your responsibilities as a Functional Safety Engineer:

  • Collaborating closely with system engineers and other Functional Safety Engineers to perform Functional Safety activities tailored to each project.
  • Understanding the intended functionality of systems within a broad automotive context and generating necessary Functional Safety documentation in line with ISO26262 standards.
  • Leading Functional Safety reviews internally with project teams and externally with clients to ensure compliance and safety of our projects.


Your current experience which will help you as a Functional Safety Engineer:

  • A Degree in Automotive, Electrical, or equivalent Engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in Systems or Safety Engineering, with a focus on supporting Functional Safety activities according to ISO26262.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • A valid driving licence for the UK.


Skills that will set you apart as a Functional Safety Engineer:

  • Prior experience in delivering Functional Safety documentation as defined by ISO26262.
  • Experience in the development of automotive powertrain control systems, high-voltage electrical power supplies, hybrid vehicles, or ADAS features.
  • Familiarity with conducting or leading FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, HARA activities.
  • Project management experience.
