Job Title: Senior Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical Weapons Test Section

Salary: Up to £40,000 dependent on experience

What you'll be doing:
  • You will carry out routine work with limited supervision & have an understanding of safety consequences in a high risk environment
  • Instruct & mentor junior members of the team within your knowledge & competency
  • Be responsible for the research, review and feedback of appropriate documentation to the required standard
  • Keep full and accurate records of work activities carried out as required by policy, procedure & legislation
  • Represent the company on Contractor Sea Trials and other outworking requirements
  • Be responsible for delivering assigned activities in line with Company policy, procedures and legislation
  • Demonstrate an awareness of product knowledge
  • At all times to be conversant with the Quality and SHE controls and measures
Your skills and experiences:

Essential:
  • Hold a HNC/HND or equivalent in a related discipline or STEM subject
  • Have a good ability to use Microsoft Office programmes & Company Specific software such as; SAP, Windchill, DIPS
  • Must have a good understanding of Mechanical Testing and Pressure & Endurance Testing
  • Knowledge of safety controls & procedures in a high risk environment

The Test and Commissioning team:

The weapons mechanical team enable Royal Navy submarines to maintain their tactical firepower and defensive technologies which requires working closely with the original design team and other test sections. You will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge with the potential for continued professional development into more senior positions. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
