Teaching Assistant - Sport & Behavioural Support

Location: Cardiff

Pay Rate: From 84.50 per day

Hours: Full-time 8:30am - 3:30pm (school term time)

Are you passionate about sport and supporting vulnerable learners who have additional learning needs? PE Direct, a specialist recruitment agency in South Wales dedicated to physical education (PE) and additional learning needs (ALN), is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team.

As a Teaching Assistant at PE Direct, you will provide support to pupils with additional learning needs, including ASD, PMLD, and SEMH. You will play a crucial role in helping students aged 3-19 years old feel confident in their learning abilities and achieve their academic, social, and emotional milestones.

Your role responsibilities:

  • Support pupils aged 11 - 16 years old with additional learning needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Inspire confidence and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Assist in achieving academic, social, and emotional milestones.
  • Encourage participation in group activities and school events.
  • Promote positive behaviour and well-being.
  • Use your passion for sport to ensure engagement in health and well-being.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience working with children in the last 3 years.
  • Passion for making an impact on the lives of children.
  • Background in Sport, ALN, or Education
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
