Gardener/Estate Worker

Due to expansion of the current grounds team, we are looking to fill two positions at Hackwood Park, a private Estate just outside Basingstoke.

Assistant Gardener position:

Main duties will include mowing, strimming, edging lawns, weeding flower beds, hedge cutting, pruning fruit trees and leaf clearance in the Formal Gardens. At times this role will be expected to help with maintenance jobs on the wider Estate including fencing and tree work.

Under the day-to-day supervision of the Park Supervisor and working alongside the Head Gardener you will enjoy maintaining flower beds and lawns to a high standard and have experience of using most garden tools and machinery safely. Spraying Certificates PA1/6 desirable but not essential.

Estate worker position:

Main duties will include mowing, stimming, hedge cutting, fencing, leaf clearance and tree work. At times you will be expected to help in the formal gardens with mowing and hedge cutting.

Candidates will need Chainsaw qualifications CS30/31 and have some experience in a similar role, ideally with some knowledge and experience of ride on mowers.

Under the day-today supervision of the Park Supervisor and working alongside another estate worker you will enjoy maintaining grassland and hedges to a high standard and be able to demonstrate safe use of all necessary ground’s machinery.

These are both live out positions, wage up to £26,000 depending on experience.
