What you'll be doing:

  • Spearheading the dynamic orchestration of bid cycles, from inception to fruition, to craft compelling proposals that will chart the course of our business's future
  • Innovating bid processes with precision and flair, crafting bespoke strategies that not only meet the timelines but also set new benchmarks for excellence, all while embracing industry-leading practices
  • Championing the quest for excellence by handpicking Chairpersons for bid reviews, ensuring our proposals resonate with our aspirational goals and objectives
  • Taking charge of the expedition through the business approval processes, navigating security protocols and export regulations, while igniting creativity in Bid Launch meetings
  • Managing the bid evolution, ensuring every member of our dynamic Bid team is empowered with insights and inspired to push boundaries daily
  • Orchestrating talent within our diverse Bid team, harmonising resources, budgets, and responsibilities to create collaboration that will resonate across our industry landscape

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience of understanding customer requirements and translating these into solutions, delivered within budget/timescales
  • Experience of running projects of over £5 million
  • Qualified to Degree standard or equivalent experience

Desirable:

  • Exposure to the defence industry
  • Proficiency in bid writing

The Business Development & Strategy team:

Step into an exciting and dynamic role where you'll be at the forefront of large and complex bids. Reporting directly to the senior business development manager, you'll play a pivotal role in our team. Working closely with experienced business development managers, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in preparing bids for thrilling projects such as Artillery Tank and Mortar, Heavy Bombs and Payloads, and Light Munitions IDT. This role offers a unique chance to explore diverse projects, broaden your skill set, and gain exposure to new challenges. Collaborating primarily with internal teams such as engineering, procurement, and commercial, you'll also engage directly with our valued customers.
