As they continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated and reliable Material Handler to join their team in Carlisle.
Position Overview:
As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process by ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products within the plant. You will work closely with the production and warehouse teams to maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure that materials are readily available for production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, and inspect incoming materials and supplies against purchase orders and invoices.
- Safely and efficiently move materials from receiving areas to storage or production areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Accurately maintain inventory records in the companyâs inventory management system.
- Prepare materials for production by following production schedules and work orders.
- Ensure materials are stored in designated locations and properly labelled to maintain organisation and inventory accuracy.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks and deliveries.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety protocols and company guidelines.
- Report any discrepancies, damaged materials, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available and delivered promptly to the production lines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or Plant Manager.
⢠Driving Licence (Essential)
⢠RTITB Fork Lift Truck Licence (Essential)
⢠Previous materials handling or warehousing experience would be an advantage
⢠Previous experience of operating a forklift truck (desirable)
⢠Keen eye for detail and accuracy
⢠Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
⢠Strong communication skills
Pay and Hours:
£25,147 per annum
Monday - Friday, 39 hours per week
Overtime available
