Reed Accountancy are excited to be working with a well-established business who operate across the whole of Scotland and are eager for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their busy finance team.
The successful candidate will provide financial support across a group of 4 companies. This role is integral in supporting the Management Accountant with the preparation of monthly accounts and involves a variety of tasks within the Finance Department.
Day to Day of the role:
- Assist the Management Accountant in preparing monthly accounts for 4 companies.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations.
- Post receipts, payments, and nominal transactions.
- Maintain and reconcile hire purchase schedules and loan accounts.
- Upload sales to the accounting system from our operational software Syrinx and perform reconciliations.
- Generate sales reports and handle intercompany recharge invoicing.
- Support the Accounts Payable process, including new supplier setup and bank detail verification.
- Manage employee expenses and credit card postings.
- Produce weekly debtors reports and assist with Credit Control.
- Collate monthly payroll information for submission to external payroll providers.
- Engage in system and process development to improve efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar Assistant Accountant role.
- Familiarity with Xero is desirable but not essential.
- Part-qualified, HNC, HND, or AAT qualifications are desirable.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and drive continuous improvement.
