Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires Network Voice Engineer/Voice Engineer to be based at their client's office in Leeds, UK.

This a fully office based role.

This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start ASAP

Day rate: Competitive Market rate

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong customer-service competencies, oral and written communication, technical documentation, time-management, and project management skills.
  • Be able to speak and relay information intelligently to both highly technical administrators and semi-technical personnel from various state agencies, customers, vendors, and other organization.
  • Be able to work effectively within a team environment, demonstrating the ability to make progress across multiple complex assignments at once.
  • Expected to install new systems to improve the company's communication structure while maintaining the upkeep of existing networks.

Key Requirements

  • Proficiency in voice networking protocols and technologies (eg, SIP, H.323).
  • Experience with VoIP platforms (eg, Cisco Unified Communications, Avaya) and telepresence solutions.
  • Understanding of call routing, voice gateways, and telepresence infrastructure.
  • 4+ years of experience in a NOC environment with a focus on voice and telepresence technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with VoIP and telepresence troubleshooting and support.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for voice network design and implementation.
  • Implement and manage QoS policies to ensure optimal voice and video traffic prioritization.
  • Monitor and optimize voice and video call quality parameters.
  • Troubleshoot and address issues affecting the quality of voice and video communication.
  • Monitor voice network infrastructure, including VoIP systems, PBX, SIP trunks, and related components.
  • Respond to alerts and alarms related to voice network performance and availability.
  • Conduct troubleshooting of voice-related incidents and outages.
  • Basic understanding of core IT infrastructure/network concepts, role of Firewalls, load balancers, VPN, (Protocols like DNS, DHCP, NTP, TCP/IP) network performance indicators (latency, bandwidth, jitter, packet loss).
  • Experience in supporting SIP-Trunks or PSTN connections, phone number management SBC/media gateway management is not required.
  • Should have experience in Client facing role
  • Should have good communication and be assertive

Special Working Conditions

  • Should have experience in Major Incident Support (P1, P2) if needed.
