The Opportunity - OTE up to 80k+

Role Overview

Focusing on high-value inquiries, you will provide top-tier business finance advice. You will report directly to the Head of Commercial Finance and contribute to the development of a strong brokerage team with excellent standards.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Head of Commercial Finance, offering tailored advice to business clients who require:

  • Asset finance
  • Acquisition finance
  • Invoice finance
  • Commercial mortgages
  • Unsecured business finance
  • Working capital finance

You should be comfortable providing advice to business owners and senior management on their financial needs. Experience in assessing business finance applications within a commercial, lending, or underwriting environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding business finance advice to clients.
  • Provide guidance and undertake assessments of business finance needs.
  • Assist businesses with the finance application process.
  • Evaluate existing business finance facilities.
  • Manage relationships with existing business finance clients.
  • Support the Head of Commercial Finance in networking and business development, including meetings with lender business development managers.
  • Contribute to continuous process and service improvement.
  • Maintain accurate business records on the company CRM.
  • Perform other tasks as deemed appropriate by the Head of Commercial Finance.

Key Skills Required:

  • Excellent communication skills, particularly over the phone, with the ability to build rapport and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of the financial needs of businesses across various sizes and sectors.
  • Ability to assess business finance applications.
  • Prior experience in a commercial, lending, or underwriting environment.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Initiative and creativity in generating solutions for new business.
  • Ability to build relationships with external parties, business partners, and key influencers.
  • High standards of client service.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Quick to learn about new products and services.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a business finance role.
  • Previous self-employed experience is an advantage.
  • Proven success in a business/commercial finance operation.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet financial targets.
  • Experience in delivering high standards of client service.

Package:

  • Job Type: Full-time, permanent
  • Location: Office-based in Cardiff
  • Hours: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday
  • Holiday: 22 days (plus statutory), increasing to 25 days after 3 years of service
  • Pension: Company pension scheme in line with auto-enrollment

Additional Pay:

  • Commission pay

Relocation: Ability to commute/relocate to Cardiff is required.
