About the role

The firm requires a highly experienced Risk and Control analyst who will be responsible for creating documentation that clearly details the core operational procedures and processes across the entirety of our business. You will work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure all necessary information is accurately documented in line with the firm’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) template and framework. In this role you will also support the Group Head of Risk in documenting key risks and controls.

This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, has a senior mindset, and does not require handholding. This is a 3 months contract role.

Key responsibilities

As an Risk and Control analyst, you will be responsible for:
High-Quality Documentation: Producing clear, concise, and high-quality documentation that meets applicable audit standards and the in-house SOP framework Working with the business: this individual must be able to hit the ground running and work collaboratively with all areas of the business Producing documentation of a very high quality that can be used internally and would satisfy an auditor’s review Partnering and working closely with each function at the firm (Dealing, Finance, HR, Treasury, Risk, Sales, Trade Support, IT) to finalise written procedures (Standard Operating Procedures) Supporting the Group Head of Risk in gathering controls (as a result of working with each function) and documenting these within an organised control inventory. Categorise these controls into: preventative / detective/ corrective etcetera Supporting the Group Head of Risk in working with Dealing, Payment Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Sales teams and senior leaders to identify, articulate, quantify, and prioritise risk Other ad-hoc tasks as required by Group Head of Risk.
This role is predominantly office based with some flexibility working from home.


Essential experience & skills

We want to set you up for success and we believe these experiences and skills will help you thrive in this role:
Proven working experience in technical writing of procedural documentation Must have worked within at least two of the following: Derivatives, FX, Trade Control (Settlements/ Clearing / Trade Support), Finance (Treasury) Experience in a 1st line risk role, 2nd line risk role, or internal audit function Excellent people /stakeholder management skills at all levels of seniority An ability to deliver high-quality documentation with meticulous attention to detail Experience within supporting Enterprise Risk Framework projects, risk and control documentation, and risk management (audit backgrounds will also be considered) Capacity to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into understandable text and visuals Language Skills: Exceptional written skills in English Software Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel Familiarity with financial process flows, trading system process flows, and associated concepts and terminology related to foreign exchange and options transactions.
