The post will be based at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic new consultant to join our current team of thirteen consultants. This is a full time post with main commitment in Perinatal Mental Health. It includes contribution toa resident on call rota for both obstetrics and gynaecology. This is a new post.

The applicants must have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and must be registered in the GMC's specialist register or be within six months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview.

Special interest in Perinatal Mental Health is desirable for this post in addition to a broad range of generic skills in Obstetrics and gynaecology. Additional skills and experience in risk management and medical education would also be desirable.

Clinical experience & effectiveness

Clinical training and experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology equivalent to that required for a UK CCT Statement regarding appropriate training including special interest in Perinatal Mental Health Good working knowledge and experience of up-to-date obstetrics & gynaecology

Qualification in Risk management Additional relevant degree(s)

Full GMC registration MRCOG or appropriate specialist registration CCT or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC) Advance Labour Ward Practice ATSM/equivalent
