This post is for a fixed term of 12 months with possibility of extension. Suitable applicants must have full GMC registration.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to have reasonable medical retina competence in managing common retinal and macular diseases such as wet-AMD and diabetic retinopathy. There will be opportunity to further increase experience in these common medical retinal disorders.

Job description
Job responsibilities

The Medial retina department has a team of five consultants giving the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to be exposed to common and rarer conditions. The department is well equipped with state-of-the-art multimodal retinal diagnostic imaging including wide field imaging and OCT-angiography. The department is fully equipped with various lasers including multi-spot, subthreshold, Indirect and PDT laser. There will also be opportunity to learn management of hereditary retinal disorders while working in genetic clinic.

There will be opportunity in taking part in ongoing research projects including various multicentre clinical trials.

Basic Medical Qualification (MBBS, MBChB or equivalent.

FRCOphth or equivalent

Clinical Experience

A minimum of 3 years full time training and experience at ST1/2 or higher grade or equivalent in Ophthalmology with medical retina experience.

Previous experience in Uveitis
