Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a newly created site based HR Business Partner role at our Sudbury Factory. As the senior member of the Factory HR Team, you will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of the Site People plan. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and a tenacity to succeed and achieve targets in a challenging result focussed environment. The site is unionised so previous experience of working in collaboration with Trade Unions will be a distinct advantage. Key focus areas for the role will also include Leadership Development, Talent & Succession Planning, Inclusion & Belonging and Employee Engagement. You will be responsible for the ongoing coaching and development of Line Managers working with them to achieve targets in a high performing and supportive culture.

This role will provide the flexibility and autonomy for the appointed candidate to get to the heart of people issues, working cross functionally to develop fit for purpose solutions whilst maintaining an emphasis on continuous improvement.

Nestle Purina is the UKs largest manufacturer of pet food. Sudbury is our Dry Pet Food factory and has been running since 1990, becoming a part of the Nestle group in 2001. We have around 200 employees working at the site with many working on a 24/7 shift system.

Manufacturing in Nestlé is all about ensuring the consumer receives a perfect quality product, at the right time and place whilst driving losses from our business to enable them to achieve optimal levels of efficiency and productivity.

A day in the life of a HR Business Partnerâ¦.

This role offers a real opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of the HR strategy from day one.

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Developing and delivering the Talent Management agenda including longer term planning around enhancing Leader and Line Manager capability, Succession Management and practical implementation of attraction and retention strategies
  • Engaging with Operations leaders to identify key areas for focus from the outcome of our Company Engagement Survey, identifying and developing initiatives that can be implemented to improve and optimise levels of employee engagement
  • Supporting organisational transformation activities and change projects that contribute towards the aim of achieving optimal levels of high performing Operations
  • Drive improvements in how we draw insight from case management to support progressive ER initiatives

What will you need to make you successful?

The successful candidate will have a breadth of HR experience ideally across a manufacturing industry with a demonstrated ability to work as a true business partner. Your career so far will demonstrate a record of accomplishment as a HRBP with strong knowledge, generalist HR experience to include involvement in Performance Management, Talent Management, Recruitment, Resourcing, Employee & Industrial Relations (to include excellent knowledge of Grievance, Disciplinary & Performance Management), Employment Law and Organisational Change. You'll bring energy and enthusiasm together with a pro-active approach to resolving challenging and complex situations and will continually strive towards best practice ensuring compliance with Company Policy/Procedure and Employment Legislation. You will also support change management and help deliver tangible outcomes that make a real difference to the business whilst influencing with impact and having a continuous improvement mindset.
