The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to join a leading Nuclear Defence client.

Main Office: Reading - But can be based from any of the following: We want you to help us deliver a range of exciting major defence related programmes across the UK. You will be involved with all aspects of safety case support, including:

* Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy.
* Working closely with project partners to ensure a safety informed design.
* Undertaking safety assessments and safety analysis.
* Producing safety reports and other technical documents.

The role will entail providing safety case support throughout the design life of a facility and/or operation. You will support our clients in managing nuclear safety and ensuring compliance with Licence Conditions and/or Authorisation Condition. Qualitative and Quantitative Hazard Analysis Assessments.
* Safety Case Report production (e.g., Liaison with regulatory organisations (e.g., Development and review of Safety Management Arrangements.
* Managing/Leading Safety Case activities and teams

Honours Degree (or equivalent) in physics, mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline (2:1 minimum).
* Technical practitioner in the Nuclear/Defence domains, able to demonstrate good engineering judgement with experience in applying fundamental engineering principles.
* Excellent written skills, you can produce and review high-quality technical reports.
* Demonstratable evidence of being a leader of technical teams and development of more junior staff.
* Motivated and driven to meet delivery/cost targets without compromising quality.
* Awareness of their own technical limitations and using the help and support of others to deliver.
