The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to join a leading Nuclear Defence client. Main Office: Reading - But can be based from any of the following: Job Overview:We want you to help us deliver a range of exciting major defence related programmes across the UK. You will be involved with all aspects of safety case support, including:
Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy. Working closely with project partners to ensure a safety informed design. Undertaking safety assessments and safety analysis. Producing safety reports and other technical documents.
The role will entail providing safety case support throughout the design life of a facility and/or operation. You will support our clients in managing nuclear safety and ensuring compliance with Licence Conditions and/or Authorisation Condition. Qualitative and Quantitative Hazard Analysis Assessments. Safety Case Report production (e.g., Support to Engineering Substantiation activities. Liaison with regulatory organisations (e.g., Development and review of Safety Management Arrangements. Managing/Leading Safety Case activities and teams
Honours Degree (or equivalent) in physics, mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline (2:1 minimum). Technical practitioner in the Nuclear/Defence domains, able to demonstrate good engineering judgement with experience in applying fundamental engineering principles. Excellent written skills, you can produce and review high-quality technical reports. Motivated and driven to meet delivery/cost targets without compromising quality. Awareness of their own technical limitations and using the help and support of others to deliver. 25 days annual leave + public holidays
