Looking for Special Needs Assistant to join us in Plymouth GSL Education team.
Position: Special Needs Assistant
82 - £14 per hour
Start Date: Immediately
Do you have the expertise to promote positive behaviour in a school environment? If so, GSL Education is seeking a committed Special Needs Assistant to join a school in Plymouth.
As a Special Needs Assistant, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment for students. This includes supporting with their education, but also their holistic development, such as students’ communication, social skills and independence.
Assisting teachers with the implementation of behaviour management strategies.
Providing one-on-one and small group support to students.
Collaborating with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop tailored intervention plans.
Supporting the overall well-being of students and fostering a positive school environment.
Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
Knowledge of behavior management strategies and their practical application in schools.
A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
Qualifications in education or psychology are a plus.
