Looking for Special Needs Assistant to join us in Plymouth GSL Education team.
Position: Special Needs Assistant
Salary Range: £ - £14 per hour
Location: Plymouth
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role:
As a Special Needs Assistant, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment for students. This includes supporting with their education, but also their holistic development, such as students’ communication, social skills and independence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting teachers with the implementation of behaviour management strategies.
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students.
- Collaborating with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop tailored intervention plans.
- Supporting the overall well-being of students and fostering a positive school environment.
Desirable experience and qualifications:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and their practical application in schools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Qualifications in education or psychology are a plus.
To work with GSL Education, you need:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
