As Sous Chef you will prepare, cook and present high quality meals in a fast-paced environment to the highest standard. Supporting the Head Chef and overseeing the day to day running of the kitchen, the Sous Chef will lead, manage and upskill the kitchen team. Maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen environment the Sous Chef will be responsible for putting together menus using local produce where available. Supporting Events the Sous Chef will also seek to deliver creative, innovative and exciting food that will delight. You will be supported by the Head Chef and the Wider One Garden Brighton management team. Maximising your work life balance, you will not be expected to work evenings except for prebooked events. This excellent role provides the Sous Chef with a unique opportunity to develop a career in catering & hospitality, whilst enjoying free time in the evenings. Our family friendly ways of working will ensure you are able to spend more time doing the things you enjoy. You will receive a bespoke induction and allergen/food safety training. One Garden Brighton is a destination walled garden within Stanmer Park. Carefully reinvented and restored by Plumpton College, the gates opened the to the public for the first time in its history April 2020. Rooted in the past, it focuses on inspiration for the future. The gardens celebrate both heritage and innovation and include productive traditional fruit and vegetable gardens as well as a series of contemporary themed gardens which are designed for typical, often difficult, urban conditions. The attraction also features One Kitchen, a place to eat and drink, One Market, a retail space complete with nursery and One Events offering a range of activities and reasons to visit throughout the year. We believe in the power of horticulture to shape the future: to improve our food, wellbeing and environment.
