Job Title: Senior Process Analyst / Process Improvement Consultant Role Type: Contract Day Rate : £480 per day IR35 status: Outside IR35 Duration: 6 months initially (expected contract duration 12 - 24 months) Location: Hybrid role, 3 days per week (1 day per week in Melrose, Scottish Borders) Start Date: January 2026 Job Ref: 25076 You must have experience in public sector procurement regulations to be eligible for this role. About the role: Our client is seeking to appoint an experienced Process Improvement Consultant for an initial period of 6 months with the option to extend by a further 18 months to support organisational transformation initiatives. The consultant will work closely with internal teams to analyse, redesign, and optimise key business processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and compliance with Council procurement standards. Project Scope & Expectation: Conduct end-to-end reviews of existing processes across Infrastructure and Environment Develop “as-is” and “to-be” process maps, highlighting inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to validate proposed changes. Implement lean principles and digital solutions where appropriate. Support testing and sign-off of redesigned processes. Provide training, documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams. Key Skills Required: Proven experience in business process reengineering and lean methodologies within the service sector. Lean Six Sigma qualification. Process Improvement Black Belt or equivalent. Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills. Expertise in data analysis and performance measurement. Familiarity with digital transformation tools and integration. Excellent communication and report-writing skills. Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations. Key Deliverables: Assist with the identification of key improvement areas and their business requirements Project plans As Is & To Be process maps for each reengineered process Assist with the identification of potential business solutions Wireframes for new processes Assist with the development of Training and guidance materials for new processes Training programme for internal staff Key Task: Process Analysis: Document current workflows and pain points. Design & Optimisation: Create streamlined processes using best practice methodologies. Stakeholder Engagement: Lead workshops and secure buy-in from service leads. Change Management: Act as a change agent to manage resistance and ensure adoption. Performance Measurement: Define KPIs and monitor impact post-implementation. Knowledge Share: Train and develop staff in the process reengineering methodology.
