40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 6am to 3:30pm, Friday 8am to 12noon (with some flexibility as per business needs)

Are you a talented and enthusiastic Head Chef? Do you thrive on producing outstanding food using the finest and freshest ingredients? If so, we want you to join our dedicated catering team in Kingswells, Aberdeenshire.

Role Overview:

As the Head Chef, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the delivery of high-quality food production operations, adhering to food safety procedures, and maintaining a clean and tidy working environment. You will manage a chef brigade and kitchen team, ensuring dishes are prepared, cooked, and presented to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities: Provide friendly and professional food service to customers and clients. Ensure all food and beverage areas are prepared in line with legislations and maintain cleanliness. Manage health & safety procedures, including food safety checks. Lead and manage the kitchen team effectively through communication and performance management. Recruit, train, and develop team members, supporting apprenticeship programs. Manage menus, food production planning, purchasing, and stock management. Actively seek and implement customer feedback. Up-sell products and demonstrate excellent knowledge of all offerings. Contribute to menu development. Encourage continuous improvement and innovation within the team. Complete pre and post-service checklists and cleaning schedules. Comply with health & safety procedures and standards at all times. Undertake mandatory training and maintain training records.

Who You Are: Strong communicator and leader. Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Committed to high levels of customer care and business management. Enthusiastic with a passion for working in a food service environment. High standards of personal hygiene. Flexible and able to adapt to business requirements. Excellent cooking skills with experience in preparing complex dishes. NVQ Level 3 in professional cookery or equivalent. Intermediate food hygiene Level 3. Experience in financial management within a kitchen environment.
