The Role: As a Data Engineer for our client, you will play a crucial role in building, testing, and maintaining their data platform. This platform serves the critical needs of various departments including analytics, data science, operations, and marketing. You will be instrumental in designing and maintaining their data stack, including data pipelines and data warehouse. They're currently migrating to a new Data Warehouse based on Snowflake using the Data Vault architecture, presenting exciting opportunities to leverage data for customer value and business insights.

The Team: The Data Engineering team is responsible for all aspects of data management, from developing and refining cloud-native warehouses to building interfaces from internal and external sources. You'll collaborate closely with peer data teams and the wider business to ensure data needs are met and a single source of truth is maintained. The team operates with a collaborative, autonomous, and flat structure.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various teams to understand data needs and recommend solutions
  • Develop, test, and maintain data pipelines into and out of their cloud data warehouse
  • Efficiently manage processing of large semi-structured data sources
  • Evaluate and implement tools to streamline data science model development
  • Ensure adherence to engineering frameworks and best practices
  • Track and improve performance and stability of the data platform
  • Enhance data management and governance tools and capabilities

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Data Engineering role
  • Strong SQL and Python development skills
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data warehousing technologies (e.g., Snowflake, DBT, FiveTran, AirFlow)
  • Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and passion for learning in a dynamic environment

Desirable Experience:

  • FinTech/Finance experience
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform)
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and Data Ops CI/CD tools and processes
