Technical Service Lead (Placement - Tax) Are you an experienced technician working on global placements with multiple premium taxes and handling an offshore service, and looking for a new opportunity in a niche area of expertise? We are looking for a manager to work closely with our offshore Placement Centre of Excellence by providing mentorship and oversight as well as developing subject matter expertise in the niche areas of Premium Tax and MRC production while interacting with

our broking teams and the wider London market. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London and/or Chelmsford offices. What the day will look like The role will be responsible for the activity performed by our outsource partner (Genpact) encompassing various elements related to Placement. It will include: Supervising our offshore Placement Centre of Excellence (CoE) team who are responsible for producing MRC documentation, premium tax schedules and completing client due diligence checks. Reviewing documentation for accuracy and providing mentorship, training, and query resolution. Answering premium tax related queries across multiple teams and including use of the premium tax platforms and calculation tools used for premium tax calculation. Working closely with the Technical Service Head to increase usage of the Placement CoE through positive engagement with all teams in Commercial Risk both within the UK and globally. How this opportunity is different Our Placement CoE provides an invaluable service to the broking teams, improving client service and reducing queries and errors. This is a great opportunity to build on this success and extend the reach of the CoE across all broking teams including interacting

with our colleagues across the world, and across the London market in general. Premium tax is a niche area of expertise but fundamental to providing our clients with tax certainty on their placements. This role will have opportunities to build knowledge and develop into a subject matter expert in this arena. Skills and experience that will lead to success To be successful in this role a good understanding of Lloyd’s and global insurance placements and documentation will be vital, incorporating experience in using industry tools & platforms to calculate premium taxes and produce premium tax schedules, or as

a minimum a proven experience in processing premium taxes and a desire to increase knowledge to become a subject matter expert. Experience in working with an offshore team is also desirable including driving performance through key metrics and service level agreements.
