The Commercial Finance team has exposure to the heartbeat of how our business trades and plays a key role in delivering on our financial objectives. It’s an exciting time to join the Commercial Finance Team as we head into a pivotal period of accelerated growth and continue to raise the bar for both our finance and commercial colleagues.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager – Commercial Control, the role is responsible for the reporting and analysis of our Supplier Funded Media (worth
£100m annually), working with senior members of both the Commercial Buying team and Finance.
This will include engaging with all levels of the commercial team (from Junior Buyers to Directors), to ensure you have a clear understanding and commercial insight of individual supplier agreements
Adding value through supplier level analysis – working with our finance business partners to identify opportunities to drive incremental income through supplier choices
Support to shape the long term strategy and approach to media funding and overriders, working with the development team to embed new transformation tools and processes
Be the trusted business partner for the Retail Media & Data team. Ownership of Commercial Insight and CCO, presenting to CFO level on a periodic basis
Key contact during the external audit process at both year end and interim
Lead on internal audits to review and improve our current control processes
Work closely with our Accounting Centre of Excellence team to validate and review month-end close positions for Supplier Income, ensuring financial integrity is maintained.
Partner with M&S (one of our parent companies) finance team, working closely to understand agreements that M&S have with suppliers, in order to accurately forecast and maximise returns from agreements.
Strong academics with demonstrated numerical and excel skills.
Strong communication and influencing skills, ability to articulate financial data in a clear and transparent way
Enhanced Excel skills and coding preferred
CIMA/ACA/ACCA preferable
