What we are looking for

We are looking for a Farm Manager to join our Wot-a-Pullet rearing business which is based in the Driffield area. In your role you will cover all aspects of the farm to achieve optimum performance and quality of birds whilst ensuring the farms are managed in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

Some of your core duties will include:

  • Preparation of sheds to be ready for new intakes, ensuring best hygiene conditions to minimise disease risk
  • Close monitoring of chick intake/start to give best environment and conditions for chicks to thrive
  • Walking the birds and ensuring all is well- monitoring animal Health and Welfare
  • Checking food and water supplies etc
  • Working with external vets and ensuring vaccination programme is adhered to
  • Adherence and enforcement of all Biosecurity procedures
  • Support farm staff on production issues providing the ability to react quickly and effectively when dealing with challenging situations
  • Maintenance of accurate records and remain audit ready at all times
  • Adherence to company Health and Safety procedures

You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of Poultry Farming. You will also be able to demonstrate great communication skills, be customer focused, have a high attention to detail, be able to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and be able to work on own initiative.
