PM Group is looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join the client team at a R&D / Chemical site in North West, England.

Responsibilities

· Identifying and developing the health & safety role at an active facility.

· Identifying and developing health and safety measures for the site, with the aim of protecting all patrons of the facility.

· Introducing operational procedures that guarantee health and safety of all personnel.

· Identifying potential health and safety hazards and working with the client to mitigate them.

· Working alongside existing client engineers, managers, and directors.

· Leading and/or supporting the project team, offering EHS input into design reviews and progression of design.

· Developing new health and safety procedures, and then ensuring that construction, installation and operation of manufacturing and site utility equipment is executed in line with these procedures.

· Developing new health and safety procedures, and then ensuring their execution.

· Supporting design and equipment specification from an EHS perspective.

· Reviewing project qualification documents and various forms of risk assessments.

· Providing technical support to the compilation of standard operating procedures.

· Inspection of project areas and equipment.

· Identification of EHS issues and potential solutions.

· Leading accident/incident investigations, undergoing root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions.

· Supporting and advising key client stakeholders.

· Supporting various EHS activities including CDM, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, risk reviews, CE markings, etc.

Qualifications

Applicants will have extensive experience of leading health and safety responsibilities on projects in the Chemical Manufacturing sectors or in other relevant manufacturing industries. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate technical competence, will be able to work efficiently and safely, and will be able to comply with client policies, procedures and guidelines.

Off-Payroll Working Rules: This role is believed to be inside IR35.
