The Role

We are seeking a Cloud Network Engineer with expertise in cloud networking principles and hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure. In this role, you will support networking requirements across both cloud platforms, working alongside our Cloud and Network teams to ensure robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure for our clients.

Cloud Network Engineer

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Hands-on experience with cloud networking in AWS and/or Azure, including VPC (AWS), Virtual Network (Azure), DirectConnect (AWS), ExpressRoute (Azure), and VPN configurations.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, such as routing, subnets, IP addressing, and DNS.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting network security, including security groups, network ACLs and load balancers in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with implementing Network Virtual Appliances in public cloud environments – especially FortiGate firewall devices.
  • Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures and how to integrate traditional network infrastructure with public cloud.
  • Understanding of monitoring and logging tools for network traffic, such as AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or third-party tools like Datadog.
  • Existing AWS / Azure certifications, or the knowledge & drive to attain relevant certifications quickly (certification costs will be covered by Options).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for diagnosing complex network issues and optimizing network performance.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and client stakeholders.

Typical Job duties would include:

  • Working with Solution Architects and Sales Engineers to design, deploy and maintain public cloud networks for customers.
  • Engaging directly with customer technology teams where needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve L2/L3 issues related to cloud networking.
  • Implement and manage VPNs, DirectConnect, ExpressRoute, and VPC Peering to ensure seamless connectivity between on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Assist in optimizing cloud network performance and ensuring cost-effective solutions for clients.
  • Monitor, log, and analyze network traffic using tools like AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and other third-party solutions
  • Provide support for network security audits and implement best practices for cloud network security.
  • Managing multiple work streams in a fast-paced service provider environment.
