Innovate UK Business Growth Team

is currently seeking a Innovation & Growth Specialist (Triage), to be the first point of contact for SME clients interested in the Innovate UK Business Growth support. They will complete a triage of their needs, confirm eligibility and suitability, ensuring they deliver client targets. For more information about Innovate UK Business Growth, please go to: Main Areas of Responsibility Deliver light touch support to SMEs around innovation, internalisation and access to finance and funding. Develop relationships with local and regional stakeholders to ensure regular referrals to the programme. Attend relevant networks and events across the South East to promote the programme. Find opportunities for new leads sources, proactively work with the marketing team (internally) and local stakeholders, private entities (externally) to build pipeline of leads. Specifically target priority sectors as identified by our client Innovate UK, to maximise conversion rate of lead to sign-up. Undertake an initial ‘triage' and eligibility assessment of all businesses and identify their needs Represent Innovate UK Business Growth brand at local, regional and national events organised internally and by other partners and organisations. Attend any relevant SME facing events (i.e. B2B networking, clinics and masterclasses) either as the delivery agent or as a representative of the EDGE team in order to stimulate demand and raise awareness of the programme Research the current business support services on offer nationally and locally, maintain the business support database which captures this information so that they and other team members can use this information to provide a tailored response for all enquiries. In conjunction with the Team Leaders, introduce qualifying businesses to specialists, ensuring as much of the sign-up process has been completed as possible. For those SMEs who don't meet the criteria, provide an information, diagnostic and referral support service. About You Ability to develop strong relationships with SMEs, stakeholders (private and public sector) and internal team members A strong understanding of the mechanisms of business processes. Understanding of the challenges SMEs face Awareness of the publicly funded business support landscape across the South East/UK Good level of CRM systems - Experience in administering processes and a range of databases (proficiency in Salesforce or similar it's a bonus) Resilient and flexible with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude A completer/finisher who takes responsibility for delivering high quality work A self-starter able to solve problems efficiently and effectively An excellent communicator, both verbally and written, excellent phone/video manner Attention to detail, numerate and commercially aware Team-worker with the ability to work with a minimum level of supervision as appropriate Excellent problem solving and analytical ability with particular attention to detail Ability to demonstrate a high level of planning and organisation skills together with ability to prioritise and manage own workload to meet deadlines. Good degree of computer literacy – proficient in MS Office and the ability to learn new software in a fast-paced delivery environment. Please see attached job description for full role details.
