Role Description – Autism Support Worker
Gray Healthcare are recruiting a new team of mental health support workers within the Worcester area to support a gentleman in his 20's who has a diagnosis of Autism, Epilepsy and Learning Disabilities who be living independently in his own home receiving 2:1 support 24 hours a day. The gentleman we will be supporting has a good sense of humour, enjoys watching cartoons and nature documentaries. He will be supported by a mixed gender team on mixed shifts of days and waking nights.
Autism Support Worker Required Skills and Experience
* Social care experience, ideally within mental health and with some experience of supporting individuals who are non verbal and have Epilepsy.
* Experience providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs and Learning Disabilities.
* Experience supporting individuals with behaviours which may be considered challenging.
* Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
* We no longer have any certificates of sponsorship available and are unable to consider sponsorship.
* This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
Bank Hours on wake night shifts: 12 hours shifts 8pm-8am.
Covering shifts on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights
Induction and Training
We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training. (Followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, this is a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint dominate approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
